I was perusing through my 1938 edition of the Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language, and I noticed a peculiar entry.
Geek Blather (gēk´- blă´- thèr) n. s. / pl.
1) The mindless drivel or nattering of a low ranking member of the high school society. 2) Pseudo-intellectual gibberish. 3) A long winded rant which meanders from one counterculture topic to another. 4) An accidental or intentional outburst of adorable prattling, which results from Quinn’s inner-dialog becoming public. 5) A nonsensical scribbling of thoughts onto a page; often with the compulsive use of ellipses.
Example Text:
“Sometimes... procrastination is necessary for inspiration. Uhm... yes. I did however watch an awesome interview with Jennie Breeden on YouTube. And... what else. Drew some drawbly things. Christmas shopping. And... well, a book came out of the bookcase today which NEEDED to be read. Apparently, all in one sitting this morning/afternoon. Gah. Literature.
